Damp Proofing Product
Rising dampness in buildings may be defined as the vertical flow of water up through a permeable wall structure, the water being derived from ground water. The water rises through the pores (capillaries) in the masonry by a process loosely termed "capillarity." In other words the masonry acts like a wick The common causes are deterioration due to age and bridging of a damp course with internal concrete floors, renders or external paths and earth levels a (DPC) damp proffing course is specifically designed to avoid the possibility of rising dampnessTypes of Problems due to Rising dampness
For inside walls - Paint does not adhere to the wall. - Wall paper lifts and stains appear on the walls. - Plaster flakes away, feels soft and spongy, bubbles and white powder or crystals of salt appear on walls - Wooden Skirting boards and floor boards rot. For outside walls -Mortar frets and falls out between bricks and stonework. -Stains or white powder appear on walls. These problems are mainly aesthetic problems only, however it is conceivable that structural damage could result from extensive rising damp, and of course a damp mouldy environment could pose a health risk to people. THE SOLUTION .................................. CIWR PRIMER PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This is a Reactive moisture cured Crosslinked polymer based Impregnating water repellant agent. It reacts with the Moisture present inside the walls & forms a crystalline structure which resists impregnation of water inside the walls. It is breathable in nature, once set & cured, It acts as a water repellant & water cannot impregnate through it.it will just stay as a dew drop on the surface coated with this coating. This coating is recommended for External as well as internal wall primer before applying any subsequent coating on the surface. It acts as a water barrier, it is breathable in nature, will allow water vapour to escape out but wont allow water to enter through it. PURPOSE: * Treatment for Dampproofing & efflorescent treatment of internal & external walls * Solving Dampness in walls arising between the common walls of kitchen, toilets rooms, bedrooms external walls etc giving rise to dampness, efflorescence, flaky paints, foul odour in rooms, patchy algae formation on the damp walls
